

What is the Sandplay Therapy Group?
A structured, play-based group using sand trays and miniatures to practise turn-taking, sharing, perspective-taking, emotional expression, and problem-solving. Guided by a psychologist, children build confidence and connection while having fun.
Who Is It For?
Typically for ages 4–12 (teens welcome with adaptations). Helpful when your child needs support with:

What Happens in a Session?

60 minutes with a predictable routine and gentle guidance

Mini skill teach with coached role-play and problem-solving

Calm close: tidy-up and brief reflection; every 6 sessions, a summary letter is provided to parents/carers

Q1: What ages is the group for?
Typically ages 5–12. Teen groups may run on demand.
Q2: How many children are in each group?
Small groups of 2-3, matched by age and needs.
Q3: What languages are available?
English & Mandarin.
Q4: Can parents stay in the session?
Parents wait nearby. We provide brief check-ins at start/mid/end of term.
Q5: Is it messy? What about hygiene?
We sanitise miniatures regularly and use washable sand/water.
Q6: How is progress tracked?
A summary letter every 6 sessions.
Q7: How soon will we see changes?
Many families notice small shifts within a few sessions; steadier change usually takes a full term.
Q8: What is your cancellation policy?
Please cancel at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fee.
Q9: Do you accept funding or rebates?
NDIS plans (Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living) are accepted. Private health rebates may apply. Medicare rebates may be available with an eligible Mental Health Treatment Plan.
